"British Asians Are A Role Model"

British Asians are role models, says Cameron

British asians provide a model for the rest of the country, David Cameron declares today, as he argues that many Asians cannot be blamed for failing to integrate.

In a powerful article in today's Observer, Cameron says that Britain's drug ridden cities are understandably alarming many Asians. 'The picture is seriously bleak: family breakdown, drugs, crime and incivility are part of the normal experience of modern Britain,' Cameron writes.

'Many British Asians see a society that hardly inspires them to integrate. Indeed, they see aspects of modern Britain which are a threat to the values they hold dear. Not for the first time, I found myself thinking that it is mainstream Britain which needs to integrate more with the British Asian way of life, not the other way around.'

I agree with this concept to an extent. But British Asians aren't exactly 100% angels either.. are they? I mean just look at the idiots infesting Star City for starters!

Sounds like another blame-shifting game to me.

lol at the star city thing.. Yeah thats true in a way..

Then again people who arent asians, just tend to judge us and make generalisations, they just think we all the same.

Its like not all of us are good but then again not all of us are bad

Everyone should be treated as an individual and no one should do the judging but god. i do think the role model is kind of along the right lines but then the newer generations are alot different. Our generation (the current 20-25yr olds) where alot more mature and understanding at the ages 10-14 then the current youngsters. i think its more to do with the lowering of standards in general by alot (not all) of asian parents and how they feel their children should be allowed to do what the community allow rather then what the parent themselves deems to be fit. Also the internet and how its allowed more access to a wealth of information and allowed youngsters to build tie's with people from different backgrounds and those peoples influences on the typically british asian lifestyle we 20-25yr olds where taught to live.

(sorry for any grammatical errors, i know what im trying to say but dont know how to get it across lol)
Erm...Yea So As I Was Saying....
